A2E is a local Northern Tier Contractor (Wellsboro) which uses the best available and most affordable Quality products (Alpine Buildings) for a Quality and Affordable Buildings that will last our customers a lifetime (limited Lifetime material warranty). A2E uses Materials that are designed for 50 year of use and meets or exceed all codes with Codeplus building conventions such as LAM beam instead of dimensional for headers and Everlast 50 year metal.

Being GREEN:

A2E uses metal that is recyclable. Pole buildings use substantially less material than traditional framing since structural poles are larger and spacing can be at 4 ft. centers and have the same load capability. Less Material means Less Labor, Lower Costs, and Lower Prices.

Materials

Footings

Our footers are a minimum of 8 " thick and 18" in diameter, 3000PSI concrete mix depending on the size of the building and our engineer's design. Standard depth for footings is minimum 36" from finished floor line.

Posts

All posts are set minimum 36" below the finished floor line to the top of the roof trusses in one continuous column (including gable posts). Normal post spacing is 8' on center. 4x6 posts are used in buildings 10' high and lower, and laminated posts are used in buildings 12' and higher. all material used to construct your building are stored inside a climate controlled warehouse to prevent warping and weather damage.

Ground contact wood

Posts and other lumber that comes in contact with the ground is pressure treated to a .60 content and has a 60 year warranty against decay, 50% more treatment than lumber supplied by average lumber yards. A2E has a Green option to provide an isolation bag or tar coating to the bottom of posts to prevent pressure treated leaching into the ground.

Side and Roof Purlins

Side and roof purlins are 2x4's 24'' on center #1 and #2 spruce. This minimizes splitting at the connections with siding fasteners.

Structural Wood (Headers, Carriers)

A2E's Structural wood are #1 Southern Yellow Pine, which is the strongest wood available in the construction industry.

Roof Trusses

Trusses are 2' and 4' on center, and are pre-engineered with loading that meets or exceeds state building code to give you the strongest roof in the industry.

Roofing and Siding

A2E's premium Roofing and siding is made from premium steel carrying a limited lifetime warranty, G110 Zinc coated, heat roll-formed by Everlast Roofing Inc. with you choice of colors. Buildings generally have a combination of different colors. The roof and sides are fastened with screws. (1 per sq. ft) The screws are weather tight with rubber and steel washers. Roofing and siding is fully trimmed at all exposed edges and connections. Everlast Inc is recognized as the leader in the roll-forming industry.

Overhead Garage, entry Doors and Windows

A2E's Overhead doors are all Raynor brand galvanized painted steel with torsion style springs. Raynor brand overhead doors also use steel bearing type rollers for smooth operation. Entry doors are steel insulated pre-hung residential grade. Entry doors have a post on each side of the door. Sliding doors are available in many sizes. We stock Cannonball® Sliding hardware and Simonton ProFinish® vinyl windows.

Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ

Is post-frame construction cheaper then traditional methods?
Yes, pole buildings use less material and are less labor intensive, thereby cutting the overall price.
What kind of wood do you use?
For most of our components we use, southern yellow pine, simply because of its superior capacity. In addition, all trusses are Machine Stress Rated (MSR) lumber with top/bottom chord. All posts and columns are made of Preserve-Plus pressure treated wood. New Growth wood is renewable and sustainable, less wood (AND LABOR) is used compared to traditional framing.
How are your posts set?
All posts are set minimum 36" (or to code) below the finished floor line to the top of the roof trusses in one solid, un spliced column (including gable posts) 8' on center or less, depending on door locations. 4x6 posts are used in buildings 10' high and lower, and laminated posts are used in buildings 12' and higher.
How deep are your footings?
Footing for all our buildings are a minimum of 10" thick and 18" in diameter, 3000PSI concrete mix depending on the size of the building and our engineer's design. Standard depth for footings is minimum 36" from finished floor line. If local government require footing inspections before construction can commence we take care of scheduling and arranging the inspection.
How safe is a pole building?
All structures are designed for a 90MPH minimum wind load, and are very exceptional in withstanding earthquakes and hurricanes.
Does A2E Building Supply manufacture or sell houses?
A2E can custom quote homes, additions or renovations.
Can I match my pole building to my house?
Yes, we have a huge selection of siding and roofing materials to choose from.
What will it cost to ship the building to me?
Freight cost will vary with the size and dimensions of the building to the destination location. We can provide a no obligation proposal that will include all freight and delivery charges. A2E is located in Wellsboro and service Tioga, Bradford, McKean, Elk, Potter, Lycoming, Chemung, Stuben, Cameron, Clinton, Centre, Montour counties, located with in your area.
Can I choose the color for my building?
We have 16 long-lasting colors manufactured by Everlast Roofing, Inc. to choose from.
Are the buildings insulated?
We offer many types of insulation to choose from. Our associates can help you determine what insulation type will best suit your building needs.
Can I put doors and windows on my building?
Yes. Our buildings can be customized to incorporate doors, windows, sky lights, and more. Your sales representative will gladly help you design and customize the right building for you.
Do you offer building kits?
Yes, A2E can have it shipped right to you.
How long does it take to get my building delivered to me?
Because we design every building individually for each customer, delivery time varies from project to project. Your sales representative can give you a better idea of your delivery time after understanding your requirements.
Will my building meet local building codes and wind and snow load requirements?
Every A2E Alpine building is engineered to comply with regional building codes, wind load and snow load requirements. We will design your building to meet the requirements of your local building codes and provide drawings stamped and certified by one of our manufacturers' registered engineers.
Do I need a concrete slab?
No, Our buildings can be customized to your needs, if you decide later on to have a concrete slab it can be added in the future.
Does my ground have to be level?
Yes, before A2E can erect the building, all grounds needs to be level as possible and clear from debris.
Who will erect my building?

Sample Current Project

The Montgomery Barn is in Wellsboro 30' x 50' with Gambrel style roof with Dormers and traditional framing and full foundation. This building has (3) 10'x12' overhead doors, man-door, Gambrel scissor truss' with 11.5' height on 2nd floor, 2x6 walls and will be covered in full Hemlock siding.
